In an effort to streamline the gifting experience and make accessing support as simple and stress-free as possible, we're pleased to introduce the InKind Wallet.

Rather than collecting and keeping track of individual gift emails, Recipients can now access, manage, and redeem gift cards sent through their InKind Page in one centralized Wallet.

From the Wallet, Recipients have the power to:

Note: To ensure an uninterrupted flow of gifts to all InKind Pages, the Wallet is being introduced in stages. Not all InKind Pages will have immediate Wallet access.

Where to find your InKind Wallet

The Wallet appears in your Give InKind Profile after the first gift has been purchased for your InKind Page. If you are the Recipient of multiple InKind Pages, you will have a separate wallet for each page. (Click the "See All" button to expand the list of your wallets.)

How it Works

When a Supporter purchases a gift card through an InKind Page, a 24 hour security delay takes place (to protect the Supporter’s transaction). For InKind Pages that do not yet have the Wallet, the gift will be delivered automatically to the Recipient’s email address at the 24 hour mark. For InKind Pages with the Wallet, gifts will be immediately listed in the InKind Wallet as “Pending”. Once the security delay is complete, each gift will be ready to Activate, Swap, Pool, etc. as the Recipient desires.

Redeeming Gifts

These are the various actions you can take when Redeeming gifts in your InKind Wallet:

Use as eGifts

Every brand of gift in the InKind Wallet can be used as an eGift. These work as digital gift cards, which you may use to scan in-store or use for online shopping at your chosen merchant. Once you’ve chosen to redeem as an eGift, the unique gift card number and pin will be available in your InKind Wallet. You may also forward eGifts from your wallet to yourself or someone else via email. Simply select the “Email Gift” button to access the gift via email instead of directly from the InKind Wallet.

Pool gifts

When redeeming gifts in your InKind Wallet, you have the option to consolidate gifted amounts from various Supporters. (For example, pool three $25 Target gifts into a single $75 Target gift.) This is a great way to reduce clutter and keep better track of a large number of gifts coming in.

Change the Brand

Needs change, and so should your gifts. When redeeming your gift, select “Change the Brand” to swap it out for one of over 200 different merchants.

Use as a Visa

Use any InKind Wallet gift as a digital or physical Visa gift card. Digital Visa gifts are instantly available in your InKind Wallet and can be used for online and over-the-telephone purchases only. Physical Visa gifts are printed and shipped to whatever U.S. address you provide. Shipping time ranges from 2-7 business days.

Activate gifts to your payment card

For maximum ease of spending, Recipients can activate many Give InKind Wallet gifts directly to their own personal debit/credit card.

To utilize this option you will be asked to provide your name, card number, and expiration date.

Once your Visa, MC, or Amex card is activated with your gift, simply use this payment card at the designated merchant (such as Amazon, Starbucks, Target, etc.). You won't need to access your Give InKind Wallet to use the activated card at the merchant.

After making a purchase at the merchant, you'll receive a reimbursement for the value of your gift. If you haven't utilized the entire value of your gift, you'll receive credits with each purchase at the merchant until the full gift value has been reached.

Receiving the credit is almost instant, but depending on your bank, it may take up to 3 days for the funds to appear in your bank account.
